We are delighted with the Chalet Pyrene, which is warm and cosy and has
a real snow-house atmosphere. It's built entirely in pine, to a very high standard.
The Chalet Pyrene is situated in Villeneuve, 300m from both the old and the
new villages, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. It's 5 mins to the
Frejus gondola. You cross the river to the purpose-built part, where the nursery
slopes and lifts start. The massive gondolas here are some of the best lifts
on the system. We will arrange ski storage so that it's an easy walk.
The general lounge/dining area, with open fire and TV, is bright and airy with
huge floor-to-ceiling patio windows opening out onto a wide balcony overlooking
the Frejus slopes. Just off the dining room is a cosy alcove with 2 seater sofa.
All in all we highly recommended this popular chalet.
Full rooming:
All bedrooms have 2 singles, with shower and WC, except 5 and 8, which have
separate bathrooms and WCs; 1 and 2 have a mezzanine floor with an extra single;
3 has a twin bed; 9 and 10 sleep 4-6 in a separate apartment 20m away in a quiet
area. This has 1 twin and 1 double bedroom, a lounge with double sofa bed, TV,
beautiful dining area with table and chairs and is very good quality. There's
a small fully equipped kitchen, shower room and both bedrooms have separate
access to the WC/Bathroom. This apartment could be used for self-catering. Guests
here dine in the chalet. It is ideal for 4 friends or a family.
Chalet Board
We employ excellent hosts and housekeepers who take care of your creature comforts
and are very much a part of the social scene during your holiday. They know
the skiing and will have lots of local information for you. For breakfast, there
is a substantial buffet with ham, salami, cheese and cereals in addition to
the usual bread and preserves. When you come back from skiing there's always
cakes and coffee or tea, and at dinner, three excellent courses with free wine.
Cook's Night Off
On one day of the week, the host has a day off so you need to buy dinner. We
always plan this as part of your après ski entertainment and will book
a high value fun-filled evening in a local restaurant if you wish.
