Travel & Flights
UK Airports
All prices are based on Gatwick departures, Manchester
has a £15 per person supplement and Stansted a £10 per
person supplement.
Short Transfers
The average transfer is only just over 2½ hours and some are as short
as 1 hour. We plan our flights to arrive close together so that we can
combine our coach transfers efficiently. However when
flights are delayed, it may be necessary to hold your
transfer for a short while and we ask for your patience. We
may also stop at more than one hotel en-route.
Check-in
Please ensure you check in 3 hours in advance due to
additional security checks.
Weekend Flights
Our Saturday and Sunday departures involve only
five days off work, not six as on a mid-week
departure and you also avoid some of the weekend
crowds on the slopes. The extra cost of your
weekend flight is included in your price.
Our Friday departures though, offer excellent value
for money as we are able to pass on the savings in
flying costs on this day in our prices.
Free coach to Airport
For groups of 35 paying, from mainland England and Wales to Gatwick and
Stansted, we provide a free coach transfer. We may need to pick up other
passengers en route. Please enquire for Manchester and Bristol.
Luggage Allowance
Please keep to the limit because excess charges can be
high. Unless stated otherwise on your ticket, the luggage
allowance is 20kg per person for the main checked bag but ski carriage is extra.
Hand luggage is limited to 5kg on all our charter flights.
Please note that all airlines reserve the right to send skis
and excess baggage on later flights. Excess baggage will
be transferred to resort as soon as possible and Equity will
provide emergency hire equipment if necessary. The
luggage allowance may be pooled but this is subject to
individual airline conditions.
The UK Department for Transport (DFT) and the European Union (EU) have adopted new security rules since Monday, 6th November 2006, that will allow a restricted amount of liquids with hand baggage through security search points provided specific restrictions can be met.
It is important to check the current baggage restrictions with your corresponding air line carrier before travelling.
Airlines
We use top charter airlines including First Choice Airways
and Monarch. We also use scheduled carriers such as
British Airways. Equity do, however, reserve the right to
use other airlines and destination airports, and to treat
London Airports as interchangeable.
"No-frills" Airlines
We sometimes use alternative airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet. These
airlines have different conditions and baggage allowances to other carriers.
They require a full names list at the time of booking and have
different cancellation charges and amendment fees. Unfortunately we have no
choice but to apply these to your invoice if you make late changes to your
booking.
Ski Carriage
Almost everyone takes our excellent hire equipment, but
if you prefer to take your own equipment, there is a
charge of £15 on our charter flights if pre-paid. Charges
on alternative flights such as "no frills" airlines may differ. We will be happy to advise you of
these charges at time of booking.
In-flight Catering
"No-frills" airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair do not
provide a hot meal service but sandwiches and drinks are
available at an extra charge onboard your flight.
On Equity charter flights, depending on flight times, you
will normally be served either a meal or a refreshment,
however this is subject to airline conditions of carriage.
Passports
For security reasons, names on passports and travel tickets must agree.
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of departure.
All children must have their own passport. Please see Important
Information. Please let us know if there are any name changes at least 4
weeks prior to departure.
Self-Drive
If you prefer to drive to The Alps we can book your ferries or the Euro
tunnel for you. The price reduction varies but will be approximately £100 for
not taking our inclusive flight and transfer. Most French resorts are 8-10hrs
from Calais and the Italian Piemonte resorts (Claviere, Sestriere and
Sansicario) are also reasonable. Austrian resorts will take you another 3 hours
or so and the Dolomites a further hour over the Brenner Pass.
