FAQ
Throughout our site we try to answer your questions and provide comprehensive information about our ski holidays in Austria, France and Italy. In addition below we have identified some of the general queries which come up most frequently.
Q: Can I book to travel on any day of the week?
A: Our ski holidays generally operate with our own charter flights.
These are scheduled to depart on Sunday for Italy (Dolomites) and France and
Saturdays for Austria, Italy (Piemonte) and the French resorts serviced by
Geneva airport.
We can arrange other flights or accommodate varying arrivals but these will usually incur additional costs.
Q: How early do I need to check-in at the airport?
A: Our charter airlines request that passengers check-in 2 hours prior to flight departure.
Q: Do you accept credit and debit cards for holiday payment?
A: We accept all major credit and debit cards (except Diners Club), a 2% handling charge will apply to payments made by credit card. There is no charge made for payments made by debit card - Switch or Delta
Q: The name on my ticket does not match my passport - what do I do?
A: It is most important that the names on tickets correspond with passports, or the tickets will not be valid for travel. If a name change is through recent marriage and the passport has yet to be updated, a ticket in a married name will be accepted if the passenger has a copy of their marriage certificate with them.
Q: Can children travel on their parents' passports?
A: As of early 1999, all passengers including children must have their own passports. However, existing valid passports with adult and child details will still be accepted until the expiry date of the passport or until the child reaches sixteen.
Q: Is there a charge for taking ski equipment on the flight?
A: We do not charge for the carriage of ski equipment on any of our charter flights. Please note that ski / snowboard equipment is carried as part of the passenger luggage allowance.
Q: What is the luggage allowance?
A: Each passenger is entitled to a luggage allowance of 20kgs (44lbs).
Q: When will I get my tickets?
A: Tickets are issued to the Party Leader's address 2 weeks prior to departure. Late bookers may need to collect their tickets from the airport.
Q: When will I get my lift pass and hired ski / snowboard equipment?
A: Lift passes and hire equipment will be issued in resort. Our representative will give details on arrival of where/when ski fit will take place but this is almost always on the day of arrival. In the case of a late arrival in resort, ski fit may be done early on the first morning.
Q: When are my ski lessons?
A: A course of 12 hours tuition usually comprises of 6x2 hours but some resorts may offer 4x3 hours or 3x4 hours. Full details will be given by our resort rep on arrival. Please note that we are unable to guarantee specific lesson times in advance.
Q: Are lessons available for all standard skiers?
A: Skiers are allocated classes dependent on their ability. Beginners are automatically grouped on the 1st day, more experienced skiers usually have a "ski-off" so the instructors can then allocate them into suitable classes. Lessons are based on an average of 12 per class, smaller groups can be arranged at a supplement if preferred. If there are insufficient numbers to fill a class, we may at our discretion substitute 6x1 hour lessons for groups of 7 and under.
Q: Are children's ski lessons available?
A: Policies differ according to resort. Most ski schools are reluctant to accept children under 7 years in group lessons, and some French ski schools draw the line at 12 years. Children only lessons may be arranged with the local ski school at a supplement. Please enquire.
Q: Will I be met on arrival at the overseas airport?
A: With a very few exceptions, our overseas staff will be at the airport to greet new arrivals. You will then be directed to your transfer coach for the onward journey to your ski resort.
Q: From which terminal will I fly?
A: If your departure airport has more than one terminal, the information relevant to your flight will be printed on your itinerary, issued 2 weeks prior to departure.
Q: Does my hotel have a dress code for dinner?
A: In almost all cases, ski hotels are fairly informal and evening wear is usually quite casual. If you have booked a 4 or 5-star hotel and would like further clarification of acceptable dress please let us know and we will be happy to enquire on your behalf.
